Minutes of Steering Committee,

Winchester Area VOTF, August 28, 2002, 7.30 p.m.

In attendance: Bob Morris, Anna-Marie Ferrara, Mary and John Deyst, Marge Bean, Regina Pontes, Barbara Doherty, Michele Nivens, Mary Ann Nau, Anne Harris, Ann Marie Gray, Dee Ingalls, Suzy Nauman, Cathy Mosca, Louise Aleo, Clare Keane.

The Opening Prayer was offered by Mary Lou Burke. Attendees introduced themselves.

Financial Update: Anna-Marie announced that among recent donations, our VOTF chapter received a check for $100 at Monday night’s meeting. We now have a little over $800.

Response to Faithful Voice’s reference to Fr Hyatt: The group discussed a possible response to this group’s inclusion of a quote from Fr. Hyatt’s talk at St. Eulalia’s (out of context) on its website. Eventually it was decided that silence on the issue was the best response, especially since that quote has now been replaced.

Speakers: Sr. Janice Farnham from the Weston School of Theology spoke to a large audience at St. Eulalia’s on Monday Aug. 26, and was received enthusiastically.

Brochure Review: Over 1 ˝ hours was taken up in reviewing and editing the document we will distribute to parishioners at the 9 a.m. Mass on Sept. 8. Regina made the edits on her laptop. She will email a version to the Steering Committee before the Sept. 4 meeting, at which the group will scan the document and review only the remaining column, the content of which she will work on this week.

September 8 VOTF Presentation at a Mass: Bob distributed a draft of his plan for Sept 8, showing where volunteers will be needed. A coordinator of volunteers (possibly Christina?) will deploy those who have expressed willingness, and anyone who knows of a volunteer should make sure they are in touch with the right people.

Anna-Marie will lead the Steering Committee meeting on Sept. 4 in Bob’s absence.

For the Closing Prayer, the group prayed the Our Father.
