Minutes of Steering Committee, Jan. 24,
2007, 7.30 p.m.
In attendance: Bob Morris, Marge Bean, Anna-Marie Ferraro, Bill Murphy, Clare Keane.
The Opening Prayer was offered by Bob.
Financial Report: Anna-Marie reported that our net balance is $1,655.51 after reimbursing Bob for printing costs. Notecards have netted $191.50 and Christmas cards $1,067. A donation of $1,286.50 will be made to survivors from these proceeds.
We will make special appeals for funds as the time approaches for our annual thank you gift to St. Eulalia’s, and also with an eye to covering expenses for Sr. Nancy Murray who will perform her one-woman show as St. Catherine of Siena here on June 11. Publicity for this event will begin after Easter.
A discussion of our recent meetings followed. The Christmas celebration and our willingness to take on the sorting of Giving Tree gifts were well-received. The possibility of working with the Somerville Coalition for the Homeless was discussed. It would involve preparing and serving a meal for 25 guests once a month.
The calendar is filling up for the next three months. Attendees discussed potential meeting topics to fill in the remaining dates. Bob noted that we have agreed that two of our upcoming Monday meeting times will be jointly sponsored (with St. Eulalia’s) speakers on Lenten themes: March 5, Fr. Jim Savage, and March 19, Fr. Paul Ritt. WAVOTF will provide refreshments at the conclusion of these evenings. Fr. Bill Clark will return to us on Thursday April 12, since he cannot come on a Monday. Preparations are underway for a retrospective on Fr. Bob Bullock’s ministry on April 30. May 14 we will celebrate the 5th anniversary of WAVOTF.
The next Steering Committee meeting will be on Monday, April
For the Closing Prayer, the group prayed the Our Father.
